Villa Angsoka is the largest of the three beachfront villas of Siri Mendira, a private estate on Mendira Beach in East Bali: close to 900 m² of living space on more than 1,500 m² of land, facing the ocean, with a 20 × 5 m infinity pool flanked by fire pits. Every room has a direct ocean view.

Upstairs are two large owners' suites filled with antiques, each with a super-king bed and mosquito net, a walk-in closet, an in-room safe and a bathroom from which, on a clear day, you can see Mount Agung. Four further air-conditioned guest bedrooms — two upstairs, two downstairs — have the same super-king beds, safes and en-suite bathrooms, sleeping up to 12 in all.

The living room has four seating areas, from the edge of the infinity pool to built-in corner sofas beside a pond. An air-conditioned media room has a 47-inch TV with cable and DVD, and a Bose system carries music through the living areas. The air-conditioned kitchen has black granite counters, a cooking island with bar stools, a double fridge-freezer with ice-maker and a 90 cm gas range with a salamander grill. Dine at the island, at the single-piece wooden table for 16 (up to 28 with the bale table added), or in the bale by the pool. The villa also has its own mini spa and gym room, and its white palimanan-stone terraces stay cool underfoot in the midday sun.

The estate is fully staffed — 18 people across its three villas, including an in-house manager, butlers, cooks, housekeeping, gardeners and 24-hour security — and the kitchen team will prepare local or western meals to order. Your rate includes daily breakfast for up to 12 guests and airport pick-up and drop-off. Baby cots and snorkelling gear are free, massages can be arranged in the villa on professional massage beds, and extra beds are available on request.

In front of the villas lies the estate's own sand beach, built along a coast that is otherwise mostly rock — wide enough for beach volleyball or a wedding on the sand.

Siri Mendira sits on Mendira Beach at Sengkidu, just before Candidasa on Bali's quiet east coast, about 1 hour 30 minutes' drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport. Within reach: Candidasa, the water palaces of Tirta Gangga and Ujung, Besakih — Bali's mother temple on the slopes of Mount Agung — and the Liberty wreck dive site at Tulamben.
